Go for the SR engine, either a 1300 or 1400. Both are Unleaded, the SR engine will be easier to fit as it has no ecu and doesnt need an injection fuel tank.
Also if you go for a 1300SR engine it will be cheaper to insure than a 1400SRi engine.

Hope that helps

Sri are Quiet tunable too.

Slap an air filter on, 4-1 manifold n zorst head work n cam and you'll have a very fast car. They love to rev.

With filter n full zorst/manifold I got all the way to the limiter in 5th gear! (all the way round speedo & tacho!!! :-) right up the a$$ of my mates corsa 1.6 16v sport on the M42)

Mines got above head work done now and is pushing out 126lb/ft & 119bhp @ fly

graph = www.theboyracer.net/mig/nova.bmp

Once the cam goes in the torque should be pushed back to the top of the rev range.

(Power figure was done at two seperate places and got similiar results (couple of bhp in it)

they obviously dont know there potential. Same with the nova sport, i was told by CIS my insurace company that they are group 3 and it would cost ?490 to insure a sport (im 18) but a GSI would cost me ?2900. Now personally i would go for the sport just because of the raw power from the carbs. I eventually went for an SRi and ive been very happy with it
