1297 cc engines

Can anyone tell me if the 1297cc engine in the Mk2 Astra is the same as the one in the 1.3 SR ?
I have got one lined up for free and it has a 5 speed box.

1. Will it fit my Nova ?
2. Would I be better to fit a warmer cam ? (Piper, Kent etc)
3. I know the SR had a Close Ratio box but will the Astra one fit ?
