i will be fitting the rear discs off my cav sri when ive stripped it and theres something i need to know:
do i NEED to use a compensator valve (or load valve) to prevent the wheels locking up?
if so, do i use one from - say - a corsa sport?
and also what handbrake cables do i need to use?
im sure i could have found this info by using the search facility but its not working on my computer for some reason :tard:
any help is appreciated, thanks!

You'll need lots and lots of compensation. Apparently the ones from the master cylinder on an astra GTE help, but I'd fit an inline one aswell. What do you have stopping you on the front?

V6 brakes from a calibra. when you say an inline one, do you mean the load valve type fitted to the rear beam with the spring/arm assembly?
what state is the back end in? ie stripped/seated/iced etc?

Try find a Nova in a scrap yard on an A/B reg and look at the compensator valves on the master cylinder they should have 3/25 stamped on them. Replace your original valves with these and you should have less braking pressure to the rear under heavy braking.

when the car is on the road it will have the standard GSi interior and two subs in the boot.
finding an A/B reg nova round here is very rare, theres hardly any in the scrappies when i look.
hmmmmmm you "might" get away with it due to having the weight in the back end...
I'd try it with the std reducers before messing about

but, the subs might not be a permanent fixture.....
obviously loads of you fit rear discs, so what have you done to prevent locking up?
generally they get removed in favour of drums for track use lol

run the mastercylinder off a v6/calibra turbo as esentialy if you have v6 front you will then have the same brake set up as a cally and they dont lock there wheels do they! thats what i did any way and never had a problem. use a nova res though obviously and iirc the gold pin from the nova and a gsi vacume servo and you should have an awsome well set up braking system

lol comparing a lardy cally to a featherweight nova.
Callys dont lock up because they weigh the same as a nova at the back alone lol
although if youve done it and it works, fair play!
