Cheers nick won't be a patch on yours but it's being built on a very tight budget and I'm sure with daves help it will be reasonable don't want to spend loads on it as plans for the loon are forming and it wont be cheap but will be a little different

backdown! the pikey truck will no longer be a pikey mobile and be a dream machine and the s1 can be done whenever so it really a case of when the truck is done to be fair rich

Well decided to scrap the vectra nothing much wrong with it, but it needed a tidy up and a few bits for mot and I got offered a zafira diesel for the right price, also I need an engine for the loon so made sence to break it rather than spending money on it then taking months to sell no one wants a v6 anymore due to fuel costs front seats have gone to there new home with Joff engine front brakes and LPG I'll be keeping bumper spoiler and steering wheel will get bayed the rest will get weighed in unless anyone wants anything as I have no room to store bits off it and no one seams to want them anyway
Anyway pic after bumper and lights were removed engine is now about ready to come out but I didn't take any more pics I was covered in oil so wasn't picking the phone up shafts out tomorrow and she is ready
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/785d2bee.jpg
Starting to regret it a little will miss the old bus but Heather hardly used due to fuel cost so needs must wonder if there will be more v6s than xe's at shows in the near future lol
Hope you remembered to start doing your cherished transfer before the MOT ran out on the poor old vec lol
blue_peg_16v
21-11-11, 08:45 PM
Nope did it a month after as long as car is not going to be mot'd again you can still take it off got the new log book on it's new reg today, you know better than anyone how hard v6 vectors are to shift and if I break even and have the zafira on the road I'll be happy free motoring for a year ftw
By the way spud my new bus beats you on milage lol but at £200 made sence, will be putting the Gsi alloys on it and that's it staying standard by the wheels
Why whats the mileage on the zaf then lol
blue_peg_16v
21-11-11, 08:53 PM
It starts wi a 2 lol
So does the mileage on my xe lol
blue_peg_16v
21-11-11, 08:56 PM
Just run in then lol
Mine was on 225,000 when it came out of the cav, whats your zaf on then bitch?

215 I think around there anyway Heather isn't impressed that I've bought her a green people carrier lol
Ahhh you must try harder then, my xe beats you by at least ten thousand miles lol
:p
And properly rofl, did you not tell her before you brought it home hahahaha!
blue_peg_16v
21-11-11, 09:07 PM
Haven't brought it home yet no were to put it lol it's on daves neighbours drive and no she ain't paying so gets what she is given and find me another w plate zafira diesel for £200 she says she's only keeping it 12 months tho lol
Lmfao, get some nova springs on it for a giggle, there is one round here with some horrid splitter that looks like its come straight off Clelands old cav SRi btcc car, and its absolutely sat on its ass aswell:eek:
blue_peg_16v
21-11-11, 10:13 PM
It's a family bus only reason alloys are going on is there are no wheel trims on it lol
I assume youve double checked it is five stud havent you, as a lot of the earlier ones were four!
blue_peg_16v
21-11-11, 10:17 PM
It's defiantly 5 stud lol if it ain't it will get some wheel trims and I'll sell the Gsi wheels lol but sure it's 5 stud need a bonnet if you see one at you pull it any time
Aye i might go for a squirt out there on sunday thinking about it, text me the colour code and ill have a spy, or will any piss green be alright lol
wonder if there will be more v6s than xe's at shows in the near future lol
lol. I was starting to think the same.

02-01-12, 01:53 PM
Well due to having an enforced day off and the weather being ok thought I'd crack on with the van so have touched up the underseal were it's been jacked up in the past was gonna do the lot but when I got under there it looks to have been recently done so not much point, also fitted the tank and robbed the Bosch 044 pump off the saloon and fitted that while I was under the saloon I also borrowed it's rear springs to stick in the van and make sure arch clearance is ok before it gets painted also had a good look at the floor while under the saloon and it's still very good despite all the abuse it had being used as a daily for about 6 years so that cheered me up a little, still would love to know who set the firework off on the windscreen of the corsa tho, any way this afternoon I intend to get the springs on the van check the clearances and clean up the vectra battery tray and paint it ready for fitting in the boot of the van and a few other little jobs, also need to get the rear beam off for a clean and paint but that will wait for another day, and I may finish the engine wiring only 2 wires to sort I'm just being lazy with that as I know if it runs I'll want to take it out and it's not worth my licence lol
blue_peg_16v
02-01-12, 03:55 PM
Well a few pics from today didn't take many wa too busy
Springs in to check clearance and there's loads so no worries there

blue_peg_16v
08-01-12, 11:25 PM
Didn't take any pics and you already know what I've been upto lol
But for everyone else today I removed the rear beam striped the hubs cleaned it up and painted it, also fitted the rear shocks and rear strut brace and the rear flexis, then had a look at the softstars and thought they would clear the willwoods on the loon and they did without spaces so I removed them from the loon and got the drivers bolted up on the van. So just need to get some rear bearings brake shoes and brake cylinders and it can go back on
davidfox280585
18-02-12, 07:04 PM

Looks like I may off gone and bought a t3 turbo and tubular fanimold for the van ohi
What's the general consensus with a t3 and phase chips? Would be interesting to what a decent wide band would be saying as I thought a t3 would be at full chat a lot later than a kkk
blue_peg_16v
05-11-12, 08:43 AM
No idea mate I'm gonna run it on the phase 3 to start having the boost etc set up by the bloke Dave used for the rs and the see were we go from there can't afford to chuck the kitchen sink at it so will just get gradually upgraded my Kkk was starting to smoke at idel so makes scence really will probably mean I need to cut the slam panel and run pins but will look good
Sounds good aero catches ftw

tbo384 4x4 cosworth turbo it is not the smaller t3's 60 trim compressor wheel!
blue_peg_16v
05-11-12, 02:32 PM
I will believe you Dave I have no idea turbos are a dark art but its better than the Kkk that's all that matters and fanimold leaves room for further improvement in the future

Well heather has been moaning at me about the van for months, wanting my spray booth (back garden) back so alex can play outside ( was only supposed to be the for a week that was 8 month since lol) so had a couple of hours off this afternoon so rather than do Christmas shopping I decided to get the nova back on the drive and gave it a was doesn't look to bad when its clean to say it was painted by Dave in my back yard (don't tell him or he will get really big headed but he's done a cracking job) so now it's on solid ground again I can crack on and get it ready for nats.
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/885BEB7D-94AE-477F-9D1E-044EE4CCB864-472-0000005C5B0B728B.jpg

Well picked some of daves cast off parts up yesterday, tubular manifold external wastegate and cossie 4x4 turbo so just need to get flange changed and a flange made to fit the turbo so I can have an exhaust made should be a good improvement over the Kkk
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/richardmee/BF632A83-31D6-4807-9054-751C1447F169-1443-000001DC11C5748C.jpg
Also with the manifold having a t3 flange it leaves more options available for future upgrades

spoke to mr lofthouse last night and he's gonna come across and sort the exhaust for me, did rip it across the unit car park just straight out the turbo was fun, and made me want it finished now.
pic with creamy bonnet after was just needs a flat and polish now which Dave has started so a big thanks to him again.

Taxed now wa bored lol have a breather problem keep popish the dipstick so need to look at that
Have you done the breather mod, and check the oil feed pipes up to the rocker, and the big one on the front, i seem to recall when these are bunger up that causes the dipstick to pop out, although it could just be the seat on the stick isnt very good, Ste Porter had this issue on his blue cav, swapped the xe stick out of mine and mine didnt blow it out, and my old one sat better in his and didnt pop up!
