the new set of 14" Compomotive TH Turbo wheels are comming, 7j front 8j rear. the wheels are stunning and propper euro style so the time had come to start cutting the arches.
i was so worried about starting to cut me arches to pieces but they are actually quite simple with a bit of measuring. im not 100% complete but there looking ace and when the cars slammed over them deep dish 14" it should hopefully look well.
heres a few pics of how there comming along:-

cheers lads, i should have taken step by step pics but i never. basicaly once cut and ground off the inside edge i pulled them to the width out i needed then welded the joins, then ground them down, after that i used fiber glass matting to go on top as i needed to extend the front edge by about 7mm on to the front wing. after the shape was right just alot of sanding and a touch of filler. i havent attempted the rears yet as the wheels aint here and i really dont want to mess up on them major probs if i do, ile get some more pics up once done. should look sweet though. cheers craig

the custom arches on my last nova where worse to do its when i was using the name batsport back in the day, there are my pics under the 2ltr 16v section (craig western) it had 19" on it (class) lol

i look forward to the update - were the gaps you had to weld quite large? if so - top job

the gaps where only small mate as i used a 2mm cutting disk so it wasnt that hard to be honest. ive just got to neaten up the under side now. im cacking my self about the rears though ile give it a go, if i mess up ile give it to a professional bodyshop.

Use a slitting disk, the IMA ones are only 1MM thick.

craig green. cheers mate, the wheels are going black centers to match the smooth gsi bumpers but the deep dish is polished have a look on dubmeister.co.uk you can see them on there in the 14" section.

bump, ile try and get hold of them it will be easier to use not so much weld needed, i never knew they done 1mm disks are they still quite strong as in will they cut through arch metal?

cheers craig

the inner arches still need to be cut and hammered and smoothed, if the rear flair looks wide thats because i have a set of 9x14" th turbos wraped in 235/40/14 continental comming for the rear and 8x14" 195/40/14 continental for the front euro style stretched baby lol

maybe its a bit ambitious but simon western from dubmeister assures me its gonna look best, so ile leave it in there capable hands. they use a divice which pumps 150psi of air pressure all out at once apparently thats how they can get the tyre on with that stretch. ile have to wait and see

Great progress!

I'm running 195-45's on my 13x8's and they look spot on.
Also, they went on as easy as a normal tyre, not probs what so ever..

They can cut through thicker sections quicker, as there is less surface area to slow the disk down. generally I use them on up to 5 mm sheet. Much more that and it's the 9"

Looking forward to seeing this done.

You actually seem to be one of, if not, the only person in the UK willing to slice up & flare the arches properly.
