ECU light on at idle

Just got my E16SE engine running (finally). It runs fine no problems at all but when it idles the ECU light comes on but as soon as you rev it, it goes off. When it returns to idle again the light comes on.
Any ideas?

Have you tried getting it to flash the fault code at you?

Although the E16 has an ECU fault logger I always assumed it was too old skool to actually log & store anything.

Probably AFM... Have you gone over all the loom plugs & checked its all clipped home properly.

Let me know if you need any bits, I've got loads of E16 spares.

Out of interest is it a GSi (siemens ECU, or GTE Bosch?)

No I havent tried fault flashing it yet, was thinking of doing that if I couldn't get an answer from here.

Craig, its from a J-reg GSi so it will be a Siemens ECU. I have checked all the loom and it is all properly wired and clipped etc. One thing I have noticed is that the breather that goes between the rocker cover and the inlet has split. Could this be the cause and Craig I could do with one of those if you have one?
