Nova emissions

Did 1992 J plate nova gsi come with a catalytic converter from factory? Need to know for emissions test on mot as mines does not have one. :thumb:

Id say no as its 1992, but what month in 1992 was it made? But yeah they would of come out of factory with one, but you still might not need one due to age!

Ok dug out my V5, my mistake car is actually a late 1991 J plate. Registered on 18/10/1991. So that would mean i am exempt fromt emissions test and dont have to get a new cat?

it would of im sure all you get tested for is the BET (basic emission test) which isnt that strict i got away with a decat 92 nova sri

Yeah TBH it should be fine mate as a basic emission's test is really easy to pass unless your car's not running right, but i don't see no problem why it wouldn;t pass!

august 1992 onwards you need to pass the cat emission test.

B.E.T test is a stricker than a cat test.0.2%co fast idle
cat test is 0.3% on fast idle
pre 92 limites is 3.5% co
