View Full Version : So... I tried to fire it up on Saturday for the first time...
Brummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Even though it was on a random 1.6 map, she fired up on teh first turn of the key!! AND IDLED! :) my 1600 wouldnt even do that!lol
Revved nice and cleanly (only up to 2500- dont wanna risk it on the map) and it seems lovely and crisp.
Some random pics...
Here is my Toovey sump that I had made, cos the winged one didnt fit!

Sounds good Will. Hope the mapping goes well.
Nice one.
Who's doing the mapping?
I am going to Mech Motorsport as they are reasonably local and seem to know what they are doing!

Is that in Cheltenham/gloucester?
Yep its in Cheltenham, i took my 1600 there and the service was excellent.
What sort of prices do they charge?
iirc the "usual"... my mate took his 309 rally car for mapping there and cost about 50-60 per hour.
For a full day its ?350 or there abouts.
He does a lot of rally applications, so he must be OK!
Not a bad price for a full day.
who is mapping it? the bloke that works there or Richard who owns/runs omex?

Engine conversion looking really good - The C20XE conversion should be pretty bomb proof compared with trying to extract big powwer from a 16XE (Awaits outcry from all the 16XE owners - LOL)
Just one quick question - I realise the cambelt 'infill cover' is made by Toovey - what sort of price are we talking
Cheers
Dave

Doubt there'll be an outcry from that comment TBH, what with all the big X16 guns such as Oli, Lee H and Will spreading engine components around the countryside lol
Oli's the only one left to see the light lol
Mines still alive :p
Hopefully, it will be biggish power soon too
Small blocks rule lol

Engine is built by John Toovey mate. I dont have the price for the individual cover, but he is a reasonable bloke, so cant see why you couldnt just call up and ask! :)
