Hi, recently passed my test and i'am gonna try my best to make me car look as good as i can get it to!

Now before you all start laughing its only a Nova 1.2 86 5dr and there does'nt seem to be as many mods out there that you can do with the Mk2 ect.

I'am not gonna go on as i know virtually nothing about Cars to be hoenst, but i'am willing to learn as i got plenty of time with a year out infront of me.

I also have gotta get new breaks fitted very soon, had a quote from Kwick-Fit for 200 quit for new pads, 2 new disc's & 2 new cyliders all fitted, is this any good?

I also need to change the interior badly!

Can i fit an entire new one? Or will this be a problem as its a 5dr?

Prices wise i'am gonna do it a bit at time so not to bothered, but obiously the brakes and exhust must be first! (see pic!)

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Heres the pics, was getting dark so could'nt do the interior!

I dont think u can edit a previous post! Your new link still doesnt work by the way! As for the price quoted above if u shop around u can do alot betta! Try an independant garage rather than a chain company. Like a back-street garage or somethin. :)

If loving my pint is wrong, i dont wanna be right!

Sammy,

Dont go near kwik-fit.

Tell people where you live (or whereabouts) and they mite be able to give you a few clues as to where to go to get some good brakes fitted. I got a cav GSI set (bigger than standard) from a back street garage for under 200 quid.

First thing sammy, goto halfords and buy yourself a Haynes manual, read it; taking note of jobs that are only "2 spanners", read up on front and rear bumpers, then goto scrappy and get some nice ones!

Happy Moddin'

Im sure someone on here who lives near you will fit them for u a lot cheaper than that.
New ferrodo pads only cost ?25 for a full set, and disks are ?15 each. So thats just over ?50 for most of the parts you need.
Post where you live and beg for help, im sure you'll get it! ;)

Wow, did'nt realise i was getting ripped that much! Shows i'am new to the game!

Anways, i leave near Stratford Upon Avon near Coventry and not to far from Birrmingham.

I'am getting a new big bumper conversion kit after i get the brakes and exhust done as i heard most will go stright on OK.

Interior wise been told that a SR interior and seats should go in fine as well?

Awnay, thanks for the help. Sammy V

cars been resprayed at some point - never seen a 5 door with a bonnet vent Monster exhaust - bet yer neighbours love ya fer that!
My advice is start small and work up slowly - looks like the cars been modded a bit already. Dus yer insurance company know - coz modding will up the premuim a bit - looks like suspensions been done at some point too. Make a list of what u wanna do then work oot the cash - start with the basics and build on experience. Dont rush - if yer do it'll look shite! have a look at some of the cars in the galleries on this & other sites
U could gather the bits u need then go at it all at once - that's wot I'm doin. I have 1.2 mk 2 - currently have GSI body kit, new suspension and SRi interior. Not putting exterior on yet till respray.
Shop aboot 4 breaks n stuff n the interior should be fairly easy to come by - I got full SR interior (seats with 3/4 split in back) for ?40 - mint cond. Chek oot the parts 4 sale section.

Cheers for the replies, gonna go about it slow really now till i get my final exams outta tha way.

Just colour coding the door handles and side Mirrors, makes a lot of differnt for such a small price.

Just gonna get the basics done first, breaks & exhust then will do the rest as i'll have all summer and be saving up for as i knew i wanted to mod the car up for the summer.

Have told the insurance company everythign its got all ready, not really that much done really part from the suspension and it being lowered a bit, insursed uner me old mans name anyway so pay 480 quid fully comp, obiously will be a bit more once everything is done.

Cheers for the reply. Sammy V
