Hi guys im looking to find out wot n/s short cable to use i have a mk2 cavie one at present that i welded some threaded rod on to make longer but it wont last for ever dose any one know the part no of the best one to use i an curently using the standard nova long cable.

I have used the nova long cable (onto passenger side) and extended the threaded bar on a cavalier short cable.

Sounds like what you have already done? Why do you not think it will last, the welding? I used a long nut and threaded it half on the cables thread, and then wound the new threaded bar into it, and welded it that way to make sure it was straight.

I think people use a mk3 astra handbrake cable, but you would have to make up some guides to route it. I havent tried this so wouldnt be able to help
