If you're just fitting the twin 40's then no its not worth it. if you couple them with a little headwork, an aftermarket cam and a suitable exhaust then you could see anywhere up to 140bhp.
okay cheers mate. Wat sort of cams are best to use in the 1.6 8 valves i heard of some people losing compression as a result of changing cams!

A Kent AST2 will give you a good power gain throughout the range, something more aggressive will give you more high end power but make the engine very "peaky".
thanks for your help buddy. just i got the chance to purchase a carb set with everythin think he wants about 300 quid. would it be worth grabbin them with a view to gettin them on a 1.6 or would u stick with the injection system??.. its just i love the sound and tourqeyness of carbs

If you're going to get at least a cam to go with them and you're prepared to spend ?300-500 to have them properly setup then I'd say go for it. Otherwise I'd suggest you get a cam and management.

The standard inlet works very well on this engine and doesnt really suit side draught carbs really.
Chris.
Aye as above.
The standard inlet with a mappable ecu, and the same mods as you would for a t40d engine(cam, headwork etc), will give more power than twin carbs.
