Well the car any way.
I went out to see how things were going and talk him round to saveing the beast instead of breaking it as it was very close to that point.
Dave had already stripped most the loome down but was having a few issue's with some of the wires.
This is to show how much can be free'ed up from a nova loome if you go at it with a set of snips and a soildering iron.

once all wired back up it was time for the start up...
Nothing happened then noticed the earth strap to the gearbox was of dooh it had been a long day.
Second run up it started fine and once changed a few wires over for the fan switch it was good to go for a test drive.
As this has been sat up for well over 6 months now we had both forgoten what an animal this is.
And it hasnt had a big intercooler fitted to ruin the look of the front end.
Also cheers for helping out with omega and i aint looking forward to changing my a/c pipework.

He was thinking of breaking it? !!

Not sure I would've stripped the dash etc to that extent but its only mk1 anyway.

That car was so pretty when it was painted. I've got a few pics of it from a Cheltenham meet & TRAX 05 I think.

Wonder if Mr Dave was under pressure in this pic with the blue filler mobile gaining on him lol

I do believe, a few minutes later, his wheel fell off ALA Tunnicliffe style LMAO

Daves car features in some of my in car vids from last year.
Also I didn't think the words "Dave Marshall & Diet" would ever appear in a sentance without the word beer. When I first opened this thread I thought I would see this.

I do like to start a trend lol.
As for the colour of his nova its a standard GTE colour and after the quick spin out in it i think it has been saved for a little wile longer.
The reason he has stripped the dash/loome and now an old boot lid (which is being srpayed up) is to cut down on waight as he wants to do some more strip days at s/c/r/w so taking out whatever he does'nt need.
BT
I did notice the filler mobile in the background and also that Laura is in the passenger seat. The wheel tryed to fall off when i was in there. This pic is just before the ****ter lane.
There was another 1 made when the wheel tryed to come off lol.
Ernie.
"What was that noise from Bert"
Bert
"oh just the wheel come undone"
The pic's say it all lol.

"Am i bovered"
Then Chris changed the grip on the track by splitting a oil cooler hose. But it made it a lot of fun on the corners.

Thanks for the pics and all the help, you'll be amazed to know that with a bit of mountain biking it feels like the belly is slightly going down so I may be lighter soon as well as the car.

Excellent, good work, those llandow pics brought back some memories, think ive got some somewhere of dave and lee locking up on the main straight!

Glad to hear you're not breaking it dave, would be a shame as its an excellent sleeper car.

DaveMarshall
14-08-07, 07:30 PM
If it gives me much more grief it will get broken up and sold off as parts, gearbox bolts pulled the threads out of the gearbox the other day but I managed to sort that, but i've almost had enough of the thing and it's still got a knocking under braking which cannot be found.

Mike
14-08-07, 07:32 PM
got a knocking under braking which cannot be found.

i had that, tightend both drive shaft bolts, bottom arm bolts, ball joint bolts and wheel bolts and it stopped it:confused:

Lee
15-08-07, 04:40 PM

Ernie

Whatever it is it's bound to be some stupid minor thing, i'd like to at least find out what it is before I decide to break it.
