View Full Version : Off Scale Oil Pressure !

Recently, while i have been driving along, i have noticed that the oil pressure dial fly's off scale when doing anything over about 2000rpm and sits there until revs are back down (basically when you stop \ slow down for lights etc).

Why is this?
The car is a 1.3 SR , couple of engine mods.
All other dials are fine.

Any suggestions as to why ?

Could be two reasons, a dodgy conection to the sendor, or you have a healthy engine that reaches high pressure at low revs. Both are possible.

hum.....interesting......mine sometimes flied off the scale too on my GTE.

I was going to ask the same question (when I get round to it).

I think my sender is faulty though 'cos it sometimes drops to zero :O
I can't see the engine suddenly losing oil pressure then magically re-gaining it a few seconds later!
Or could it?

yeah mines the sender, figured it out now.

More than likely the problem if the car's running ok.

my gauge done that on my gte and it was the connection on the sender!
