gonna stich weld the rear shock mounts up ready for the coilovers. do i just stich along the seam?

Which coilovers? Proper ones?

If so, the rear beam shock mounting points needs strenghtening too.

yea proper ones, will be doing the bottom mount on the discd rear beam

Yeah, stitch around the seam.

Trial fit them too to see if/where you might need to use Mr Hammer if they catch the inner arch.

As Ad said, around the seam is plenty especially if you have the rear stripped out.
