Anyone know where I can get my grubby mits on the 1.6 16v engine. I've looked in Novatrader but :(

Try Carquip on 01366 324318 or Colin Smith who is regularly on Novatrader.
The prob. is that they get bought up for competition use. RRE in Devon (01769 581565) reckon that they mod up around 20 a year for rallying etc etc. Try CCC and all the specialist motorsport mags and papers as well.

keep an eye out. Mine was advertised on MIG for 2 Months, thats when I thought sod it, if no one wants it I will have it, so I did, and I don't regreat it as yet.

I paid 400 squid for mine and other parts included meant I did the whole conversion for just under 600 squid, that included full service cambelt change etc

I was looking to cap the conversion at about ?500. But then I guess you only get what you pay for. Not really interested in a pre-thrashed engine. :)
