Hey guys i am replacing my fuel tank but whats the best coating for
the fuel tank.
Do you think that spraying it with hammerite will do the job ok?
Opinions please

Yeah Hammerite (smooth I assume) will be fine. I'd be tempted to use a good primer first but new tanks are usually galvanised anyway so shouldnt rust.
Aye, if its galvanised(my new one is), then you dont need paint.
Galvanise coating looks like big metal flakes on the surface.

Its not a new tank, its an old one.
So i will clean it up with the wire wheel and paint it with smooth hammerite

there is some stuff available from a company called Frost who do restoration gear. It coats the inside of the tank cos they rot from both sides
Aye, very true.
I had to replace mine because it rotted from the inside out.

yeah true, BUT if it was a brand new tank, it'd be good for at least 15 years lol
I got my powder coated on the cheap BTW
Im hoping my new one outlasts the car,Lol.
