Guys i'm looking to getr a set of Toyo 888s, probably just for the front. My car has 195/45/16s but the closest thing I can only get in the 888s is 195/50/16s.

Will these still fit on ok? The car is fairly low, due to Spax adjustables and a redtop haha

Cheers

They will be a bit big, they will fit though. I have a piccy of my car on stoopid sized wheels if you want an idea of what it may look like.

Thats why 15"s are the track choice for wheels, slicks are available in sensible sizes. And cheaper!

problem is, i have wilwwod 4 pots on the front and am worried about clearance.

Does anyone kow if 15s will slip on?

Depends on the size of the disc. However with willwoods the usuall problem is not the outside of the wheel clearing but the inside of the wheel hitting the caliper. As in near the hub. Running spacers would help this though. I run 15" wheels with 288mm discs but its not the Willwood setup.

You'd need a wheel with suitable spokes I'd have thought, similar problem on the GT4 with the 4pots on front. Compomotive Mo, Oz Superleggararaarararaar etc should be good.

As for the tyres, 195/50/16 is shorter than my 195/60/15 which fit ok, but I'm guessing yours is a 3dr with square arches?

The Toyo R888 has really bulky sidewalls as well which may cause an issue.

I have some 195/50 R15 R888's and they are wider and and as big overall diameter as my 195/45 R16 Toyo T1R's so think you will really struggle with R888's in 195/50 R16.

guys thanks for the feedback, i would obviously prefer to put on 15s for the track, save me some dollar :p the calipers already sit very close to the rear of the spokes on the alloys.

Ive not taken any pictures as of yet, but the brakes are 300mm, here's a link to the original advert.

Razorjack i'm starting to get concerned about not being able to fit on any other tyres, to be honest just the front tyes would do me in the mean time.

thanks in advance again guys

would going from a 45 to a 50 really cause any problems though?

mate the discs are 300mm, this rule out any potential 15" ers?
