View Full Version : twin 40s on a 1.2...
hey all, just been sold a set of twin 40s from a swift gti with linkages and sock type filters for a good price...
and i'm goin to fit them to my 1.2 8v carb engine while my 1600 8v turbos built.. and i was just wondering what the best way of doing it is?
whats the best head & cam for it..
will i need a mpi tank/pump for this?
Cheers martin
save your money an put it into the 1600 engine tbh

maybe i dont want to lol lol lol
if it's a carb model, you can just use the Set rate Mech Pump and standard (pumpless) tank and Lines. I've been running this for ages now...
It's been fine for me, but i've just upgraded to a Facet Silver Top pump to cope with fueling...
sell the carbs for more than you paid and up sepc the turbo.....
setting up the carbs will cost a fair bit too.
I was going to say, that it's a bit of a pointless endevour. They make fantastic engines if you put the money into other modifications... but on a standard lump it just uses more fuel for not alot of gain !

nah theres a guy by me who can set them up, good job to ive seen a xe on 40s he set up :)
may have sourced a 1300 head and piper 280 or 290 cam...
1300 head will be a downgrade, keep with the 1.2 carb one.
