Anyone know of any classic insurance companies? I have a 1989 Nova and just wondering if this would qualify with anyone?
I insured my MkII fiesta as a classic with Lancaster Insurance. They do appear to insure Novas but not all models or trims. Google them and give them a call.

Cool, i had a look at HIC i think it was and they gave me ?400 a year fully comp, whereas i pay that now just third party cover!!
Will probably look into it more, seems worth it
yep, another vote for HIC - ?297 for my saloon with an XE.
Bear in mind with a classic policy you don't earn or use any NCB, and will be limited mileage. Ideal for a second car, but just something to consider if its your main vehicle.

Ah **** i didnt realise you dont earn any no claims bonus!
Probably not something il be doing for the moment then, possibly something for the future and, like you say, for a second car

You won't need the NCB if you stay with a classix policy. NCB is supposed to bring the premiums down but in london it pooh anyway.
HIC said i could'nt use my 4 years NCB but will put it on record and keep it active, whatever that means!

It means that if you move back to a regular policy then you will still have 4 years NCB as opposed to starting over. Though to be safe, if you do move back takeout your first year with HIC.
Most* insurance companies state in their small print stuff like any NCB used on the policy must be earned by the main driver, on their own policy, with a full license, and have been acquired/used within the last two years. So if you had a classic policy for 3 years on your only car, then went back to a normal policy you'd effectively start over again with 0NCB. I'm guessing HIC saying they're keeping it "active" prevents this.
As Bump suggested, you may want to stick with them for your first year back on a normal policy tho, as other insurance companies may not honour it.
*Most, not all - although Diamond supposedly are honouring Alex's 1 years NCB from a provisional license.

Cool, well i guess for now il stay with Endsleigh just to be sure. Maybe in the future i could look into classic insurance, HIC seem pretty cool and you guys seem to hold them in high regard so il keep them in mind
Cheers peeps

Incorrect, although you cant use ncb with a HIC classic car policy you still accumulate them!:thumb: Their classic car policies are still cheaper than a standard policy with 7 years ncb so you dont need to use any ncb anyway.
