Ok i got a chip for my ecu, however i have found that the chip in my ecu is soldered in. My mate has never had an ecu that has the chip soldered, however ive looked at another couple and they have the chip soldered in too. Does anyone know what codes i need to get one that the chip just clips into? My mates only ever had an astra gte so im guessing that has somthing to do with it.

Btw my engine is the dizzy type not coil pack.

Sorry if that dont make much sense:roll:

they shouldnt be soldered in, they just pop out an change the chips, simple as that. There are however a few different types of ecu.

Sure it's not in a carrier? Usually the ECU chip can't take the heat of a flow solder bath.
