you'll be lucky to get 80-90 out of one lol, possibly one of the worst engines to swap to apart from a 1.8 spi
IIRC, some of the Cavs used the 88bhp 1.6 small block with carb. Apart from the power output in comparison to a GSi engine, I don't see whats wrong with the engine, A family friend has a well looked after one on 180k which is still living in the Cavalier. Cheap and reliable, and only 12bhp less than a GSi without the hassle of changing fuel lines and tank (keeping the cost down further) Would still make a fairly quick Nova would it not?
a 1.4 carb will be as reiliable and powerforull etc with the cheaper road tax.... most cavs had a big block 1.6 on a carb and the small block version was an SPI which is really nasty lol.

Most of the 2lt 8v cavs have 113bhp unless you get a 130 one which are rare.
just sore one on ebay thats all, think i would rather drop a gsi or gte instead

if its a big block engine; surely that means its as much hassle mount/weight wise to fit in a nova as a 2.0 is??
