well as im having a hard time finding a petrol engine, i might mount my other 1.7 td engine but as you lot know they mount diff
all i need to know is, would this be even possable or would the bush get ****ed really quick
the mount is a std petrol mount

there would be a lot of leverage excerted on a standard mount. May work with a solid mount though.

im thinking, (hard i know)
what about some of them supports that old school mini use, the ones that go from the engine to the bulk head, to stop the amount of play when flooring it lol
or even better weld a bit of box between the engine and fire wall lol

I think some Big big power cars also use really stiff versions as torque dampers, to resist against twisting
General, considering how flimsy the std mounts look (and I have had the rh mount snap in two on a nova before), your solution would probably work fine. Why not nip to a scrapyard & get the right bracket & weld it in.
