quick rack

ok while i wait for some more parts i thought i could refurb and change my steeing rack and rod ends. on the 1.6i where the best away to get at and remove the rack.
on my 1.2 i could do it over the top of the engine but with the gsi very little chance of doing that ?
also do the rod end just un bolt fro the rack worth doing before remover or not make much difference?
will look at hayens as well see what it says

Piece of p*ss to remove, undo the UJ at the bottom of the stering column, remove track rod ends from steering knuckles, the remove the 4 M8 (13mm socket) bolts from the clamps on the bulk head, then just remove it thru the wheel arch.

anything to remeber fist with setting the wheel to center and stuf

Best to get it tracked afterwards anyway Timmy after messing with the rack. Itll never go back with the same settings no matter how hard you try.
