Nova Pricing

First of all Hello to everyone !
I have been offered a H reg Mark two Nova merit 1.2 for ?700. I could not comment on its mechanical condition although cosmetically, it is pretty much mint and completely standard. My first reaction was ?700 for a 17 year old car !? But maybe that is just me. Hopefully you could all offer your opinions. Another thing , What should I look out for when I view the nova, ie common rust patches, engine noise etc. Thanks very much everyone, Alexsz

Seems fair enough. Minters are hard to come by. I shall be selling one similar soon for around the same money, this one has some good mods on it too.

i paid ?950 for a 20k 1.2 merit completely standard and mint. so really anywhere from ?700 to ?1000 would probably be right.

Rust, and lots of it! Bottoms of doors, corners of the boot floor, chassis legs and general engine bay area :thumb:

700 is a lot but then 200 quid for a mechanical/corroded nightmare is too.

Yeah originally I didnt want to go over ?500 for the car, being 17 and skint, but it is difficult to find a decent nova for that price in the Hertfordshire area :roll: .

It all depends how clean it is. If its seriously mint with no rust at all then its worth more than ?700. If its just in decent nick then ?700 is fair. You dont want to spend less on a shed and have to spend thousands getting it mint.

Unfortunately it seems like I have missed out on this one so when I get back from holiday I will be on the prowl for a cheaper one !! Thanks for the advice.
