as the title says. roughly how much does a nova weigh. with a full interior. and a C20 LET engine...
thanks a lot
luke
considerably more then a nova, half stripped, with an SR engine. That weighted 820kg IIRC
haynes will tell you the unladen weight. dont have one to hand just now. Above sounds about right.
what exactly does kerb weight mean ?

That's what mine says burgo
and if that is the case a poverty spec saloon is 740kgs which mine was but it is so stripped now it must be below 700kgs which is crazy

fully stripped 3 door with XE = 770kg (270 rear, 500 front) (no driver, half tank of gas)
Weights from 92 Vaux booklet on nova:
3 door hatch:
1.2i (trip, merit+ & SX) 775
1.2i (flair) 783
1.2i (luxe+) 800
1.4i (merit+) 785
1.4i (flair) 793
1.4i (luxe+ 810)
1.5d (merit+) 840
1.5td (merit+, SX) 855
1.4i SRI 811
and heres why i love the SRi-
1.6 GSi 887 (how lardy!)
4 door Saloon
1.2 = 805
1.4 = 815
5 door hatch ranges from 800(1.2) to 880 (1.5td merit+)

Unladen weight, ie empty vehicle plus full fuel plus 75 kg driver.
Its only some german manufacturers that add 75kg for a driver, the true kerbweight is without any loadings except, full tank of fuel, and all other fluids (oil, water etc), basically everything to make the car run.
MIne weighs 780kg, with LET, F28, Driver about 10 litres of fuel, its stripped and caged.
Mine was around 600kg inc driver when I had it weighed!
Use a weighbridge for fecks sake. They are at most municipal waste transfer stations and at all landfill sites. Often they can be borrwed for a few beer tokens, or take some stuff to the tip get weighed on the way in, get weighed on the way out so you "know how much has gone to tip" subtract your weight form the second reading and there you go.
