I'm currently running a NVO 52 ( i believe)

Sports ' R '1500-5500 6.73 Cam lift 11.37 Valve Lift 262 Deg

And am about to purchase a AST2

Sports ' R '3000-7000 6.09 Cam lift 10.30 valve Lift 290 Deg
..

I have a basic idea that The longer the duration, the longer you get valve lift for ?

So my current cam has a mm more lift, for a shorter duration.

So what's this going to do to performace ?

Thanks. Please correct any of my data/ideas lol

Edti - My engine is a 1600cc on a Moderatly modified bottom end (L&B e.t.c) Headwork (standard valves) T40's and 4-1 Manifold/Exhaust.

It's been RR'd at 140hp (which i know is too high.. i'd imagine its around 125-130hp max )

It will give more overlap. You should see a good gain with it, as the cam you currently have is tbh pointless. Hardly any more duration over a standard cam.
You can see how much more duration a ast2 has just by comparing it side by side to a standard cam.

You will need the carbs setting up again too, and it wont "make it undriveable around town/idle badly" as commonly said.
Mine idled fine.

do you need new pistons and solid lifters for a duration that long

how much are those

I run this cam nick and it will make a nice difference to the puny cam you run at the moment :thumb:

What duration is your old cam? Might be interested :D

Its one of the best cams to have if you have modded your engine. Not particularly peaky but good solid even power curve all the way

Best enjoyed combined with larger valve conversion and associated headwork

It's an NVO 52 !

Despite dan saying it's a puny cam (lol) i found it great for pure road use. Makes low down power, but on the track (using mostly the top-end of the rev range) it's not so good.

Pm me for a price - It's been in for less than 10k on a fresh build !
