in need of some serious help

Hi guys,

sorry for posting a thread that you have all seen before.

I have all the bits i need to fit the electric windows in my nova sr.

All of which are shown in the photos below.

i wanted to test the windows before i fitted them so I put the red and black plug connectors into my fuse box and held the earth to the cars shell. the ignition was on but nothing happened.
i can only think it is somthing to the connectors on the loom for the central locking, could this have anything to do with it?

any help is apprieciated as to why there are not going.

Might be a dumb question but have you checked the black wire is going somewhere at the back of the fusebox? My non-e/w car didn't have a connector for that originally.

i havnt looked tbh but come to think of it the hole the black plug went into did look rather empty.

saying that i did touch the black and red wires directly to battery with still no joy.

if this is the case and the fuse box is missing this bit what should i do?

righteo chaps,

just checked the fuse box and the hole for the black plug is definatly connected up and there is a terminal in the hole.

any ideas?

where about are you i have fitted may of these, also is the earth got a good connection ?

if u conected it straight up to your battery and it still didnt work then it sounds like it could be a dodgey loom or the motors have gone, disconect the wires from a motor and jst run a piece of wire for each terminal to the battery terminals and if it dont work then i sugest u wana take them back to were you got them, if you swap the terminals on the bat then there change dirrection. also make sure the mechanism can move freely. hope this helps

ok lads, i have tested the motors by puting wires directly to the battery and they work fine.

Timmy, to be fair the earth wasent a great connection i simply held the earth to the cars shell. i'm in the romford/rainham area, elm park if you know the place.
