http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t277/gunny07/IMG_8323.jpg:cry: my 1600 sr beast is no more, accellerated rather sharp earlier today and when i belted it into second it went bang!! engine and gearbox mounts snapped, exhuast is now blowing (least of my problems) linkage popped off  SOOO GUTTED after all the work i put into it, so its now possibly breaking, see cars for sale parts - for sale etc

shame mate coz i know how much u loved that nova
So whys it killed?
Just replace the mounts.
Just sounds like a mount snapped to me(likely if they were the original ones), which then let the engine move about causing the linkage to come off, and the downpipe move(making it blow)

Shame.
Novas are damn robust little things. I'm sure a few new components & some welding (no doubt) & she'll be raring to go.
Loving seeing a proper mk1 aswell. Early SR's are what won so many hearts of the Nova.

i know it should be rebuilt definately im with the others mk1s rule save the thing
if you do break it i want the front bumper lol
it ripped a bolt out of the gearbox casing aswell, think it snapped the linkage havent had a propper look, i love this car but for what ive been offered for it in parts and with the way things are shaping up i think im just better off to break it, though i would love to be out there in her again :(

yep get her re-built.. go and have more fun in it! you will more than likely regret breaking it after a while!
you did an engine change and then back to the original 1 in 1 night so you know how to fix it.
Keep it as you will regret it once it's gone.

fix it
every gear change was about 10mph short, i normally get 60+ in 2nd, bout 90 in 3rd and 110+ 4th, and this is with the carb only jetted for a 1300 sr lol and although you cant really see in the video a car pulled out on me when i hit about 120 and i shout 'i cant stop!!' or something because i err, didnt really have any brakes lol
