My 1300 is about to give up on me and i've sorted myself a 1400. I'm thinking its just gonna be a straight swap. is that right? Does anything need changing? extra bits needed? Its a 1988 car if that makes a difrence

you will need the engine wiring loom from the 1400 if the distributor and coil are different!! they sometimes have different plugs on them!
the rest should be pretty much the same!

why bother a 1.3sr lump is more powerful! 80bhp to the poxy 60bhp you get from a 1.4!!
if your gona swap get a 1.6gte or GSI 1.4 not worth it to little power for alot of work!

you will need the coil and the small loom that goes from the coil to the dizzy off the 1.4 aswell, make sure you get them or you gonna be fcuked m8. at the moment you will have a black block connecter going to you coil with 2 wires on it black and green, on the 14 coil loom it will have 3 wires on it black green and brown put the brown to an earth piont and connect the green to your green wire and black to the black wire, job done p!ss easy job
