Same fitment as a 20xe, its a big block engine in a mk3 astra.
It depends on the year of the engine whether its immobilised or not, 1995 on.

Will need mount kit, bay welding, 22spline shafts, and the "usual" wiring.

1.8 Vectras must be cheap as chips, as scrap. Why not get one with a good loom?

Why not 2.0 litre, same story. Cheap. Fair play for ECOTEC though, under stated power plants.

yera every1 keeps sayin just redtop it.,. but you dont see many ecotec novas unless its x14/16xes my cars already "diferent" so why not carry on the theme?:thumb:

You are still down on power with the 18xe for roughly the same money though? It might be different but its also slower.

Up to you i just can understand going 1.8 unless the engines free or somthing.

Seems to me to be yet another case of not going for the best option just to be different lol

Why not do a Z18XE? 1.8 small block. No farting around with different mounts / gearboxes etc, run it on carbs to eliminate the fly by wire issues (you may have issues finding an inlet manifold for them, but it will be your only problem imo), and youll have one of the first novas to carry one (Lee He****ys is coming on, he already has the lump and stripped it down, the head is fecking awesome when you compare it to a 20xe as well!

Those inlet ports are insanely cool for a standard head.

1.8 small block lumps arent cheap though.. are they?

I'd put a Vectra B 1.8 16v in on an F15 box & std shafts for cheapness.

Agreed, but putting a 1.8 big block in rather than an xe is saying 'i want to be different rather than get the most performance possible'

So, why not be really different?

Hey people do all sorts of stuff, for different reasons. It makes us all different. Tbh its his call. If it makes the road, then fair play to him.

The engine would have to be damn cheap for me to think about using it.

Aye, agreed, I'm just of the ilk that doesnt understand why you would sacrifice performance just to say your being 'different'. Obviously I agree that everyone is different though. :thumb:
