Hi folks,

I have a racetech oil pressure gauge and am unsure of what the switch is. I was driving the car the other night (after engine rebuild) when I noticed that the oil pressure was going up to 6 bar on light load maybe 3000-4000 rpm. I dipped the clutch and it sill didn't go down on idle so rather than risk blowing a seal as I thought that was bit high I switched it off. After a while I started again and on idle it was 2 bar. Give it a few revs and it was went to 4 bar which I thought was fine and then it could shoot up to 6 bar (87 psi). There is .7mm washer in the spring of the oil pump. So is the pressure too high? Should I change the switch and if do what is the thread size. The engine is a rally engine.
Hope someone can help.

Actually I think I might have solved it after thinking about it, the relief valve in the oil pump is probally stuck or sticking. The washer might be having an effect. I'll take it out and see what happens.
