most people either live with it or use a catch tank system

is it betta to remove the hot vapors into a oil catch tank or just run them standard

is it betta to remove the hot vapors into a oil catch tank or just run them standardwell it comes out the factory plumbed back in to the engine so isn't going to kill it is it. having said that when i fit my new engine im fitting a catch tank

Its plumbed back into the intake as standard to reduce emissions and stop oil vapour etc going into the atmosphere(its not nice stuff to breathe either)

You wont see any "gain" with a catch tank, just it looks cool,Lol. It will also stop your throttle body getting gummed up with oil from the breather too.

ok think i will stay with the standard back in the induction pipe

I'd still recommend it though as it keeps the oil vapour and intake air seperate though ;)

its a freshly rebuilt engine and ive modified the breather system prior to the outlet which means thats its very hard for oil to make it out yet still able to breath.

mines a 2lt 16v so is quite easy in a way, not looked at doing the 1.6 8v but it will be the same idea.

you basically want some sort of guard on the underneath of the rocker cover, where the oli breath outlet is to stop any oil splashing out of it but not right over it so it cant breath. ON the 2lt's its quite easy as they have a bit of metal sheet that doesnt take much work to sort out already there.

ok and thats it make a little cover of the breather hole on the rocker cover with just enuff gap so it can breath but not splash out then run a tube down to the bottom ont the engine bay?

Oil shouldn't come out the breather pipe, just vapour/bit of emulsified crap.

My breather pipes just lying on my inner wing lol

best location for placing a small catch tank

Open your bonnet and find a suitable place.... catch tanks come in loads of different shapes and sizes......
