blue_peg_16v
24-07-07, 01:11 PM
unfortunatly not and ive took the engine out the saloon too so i have 2 none runners unfortunatly, am putting the turbo in the saloon now and the valver and carbs in the gte decided it will be better for track use on carbs, has dave (bert) still got the turbo?

works been realy busy this year and i just dont seem to get chance to work on them, mrs has nicked the vectra gsi so im currently running around in a mazda 323 not the best car ever but gets me to work and back

Ernie
25-07-07, 12:57 AM
lol @ Mazda 323.
Yeh Bert still has his tubo terra and the wheels are staying done up now so i may go out in it again 1 day..
I think he would sell a limb before letting that go.

You learning to drive again mate? lol

Looks in good nic for a mk2, better than my d-reg, left it parked by a wall at work today and some chav scum 'ran over' it so now left with another dent to the collection! lol

Ernie
28-07-07, 12:03 AM
Thats a bummer steve. And it's not me learning to drive (as had square wheels when i did my test lol)Its my other half Carle.

Ernie
28-07-07, 08:04 AM
Plan of action for today is to get it running on all 4 as it is still on 3. Ive tryed the norm things like new cap/rotor leads so of for a set of plugs today to see if that can sort the old girl out.
If the worse comes to the worse i may be speaking to Bottlethroddy about the 1.2 he has got at his lockup and she can learn to drive with that in there lol.

Ernie
29-07-07, 05:24 PM
Done a bit more mincing today.
I fitted a new set of ht lead's but still not sorted things out so it maybe a head off to see what the valve's are like.
Any way i fitted me mud flaps.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0133.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0134.jpg
Then drilled the hole's for the gsi rear spoiler to go on but had to spray it first.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0135.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0138.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0139.jpg
Then started to fit the gsi seats.
The fronts are just a strait swop over.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0137.jpg
But the rears on a Gsi are a 60/40 split and mine aint.I would just change them over but that would mean welding the mounts into the floor. So i just started retriming the original rear seat.
Top part done.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/Photo-0136.jpg
Just got the bottom part to do but had enough for today.
More mincing next time.

Ernie

No real progres but have now fitted new leeds/cap/rotor arm and spark plugs but still not right.
So i will have to rip the head of to see if any of the valve's are burnt out as seams that way.
I did ask the person i bought it of if it used to run ok before he took it of the road but didnt want to know.
I was'nt out to blame him but if it was alright before then it mite just be a stuck valve but haho head of tomorrow if i get chance and take a look.

Ernie
01-08-07, 12:17 PM
Had enough and givivng up now so going to rip this lump out and fit a 1.2 ive got a very good deal on (Cheers Lee).

Not much of a real update apart from that the engine is now back out after a change of plans.
After buying the gte to brake it was desting to go into the nova life.
Any way i went out to the yard today and took the engine out thismorning and started to prep the gte lump e.g cam belt water pump and stat. Also a new inlet gasket as was told that the old 1 was shot.
