Is there a possibility, that the rings/bores could have been damaged if the wrong sized crank bearings were fitted? Basically i had an engine built, and the main bearings where the wrong size, so the crank was rattling/knocking in the block.

Just wondered if anything else could have been affected? The crank has now been re-ground, and had the correct bearings etc so that bit is sorted.

I doubt it, how may miles did it run for??

it didn't, i just ran it idling and revving slightly for approx 20 mins or so, so i doubt any damage will have been done elsewhere.

if the mains are loose fitting, then the oil will leak out too quick & could cause starvation elsewhere. The most likely place is around the cam.

Well got the engine back, with correct sized bearings, so fingers crossed its ok. Everything else seemed fine
