im on liverpool victoria and i changed my insurance form my old 1.2 nova to my new 1.2i nova and it went down ?30,, then i told them ive mooved house, and it went up ?350, what a joke, cant afford to insure the car as it is!! so now im payin ?1500+ for a 1.2 while im 17!

That price is about the norm.
I paid ?1200 for a 1.2i when i was 18.

I would assume you moved into a considerably more risky postcode area then. Just goes to show how much of an effect where you live has on the cost!

Unfortunately not a lot you can do. Mid-policy changes more often than not involve a massively extortionate hike in premium costs as the companies know you're unlikely to cancel mid term and lose out on working towards another years NCB.

My first Nova, a 1.4SR, was costing me ?1400 F/C with liverpool vitoria when i was 17? My postcode is an average risk area (posh cars that keep getting nicked)

How old are you now tho?

Insurance increases pretty much daily for young drivers,Lol.

Ask people that were 17 say 10years ago, and they'll tell you they payed about ?500 for there first policy, compared to 1k-?1500 nowadays.

mate thats about wright i was payin ?1500 fully comp on a 1.2 nov van, at the age of 17 too,

im 19 now and still lookin around 2k on a 2.0l 16v w**k aint itlol

oh the good old days,

i remember moving 10mins down the road from a birmingham post code to a coventry one, 3.7miles to be spot on ;)

they told me to F off and i had to break/sell my valver lol

when i was 19 almost 20 i was paying 1440 with norwich union that was cheapest i got now with 2 no claims its 550 with adrian flux now 22
