i took my Idle control valve off to clean it, Can I just use WD 40 because I have heaps of that lying around. ALso, If I wanted to clean out the throttle body A bit, would WD 40 and some clean cloth be ok for that? ITs s 20XE if that makes any odds. :thumb:

carb cleaner is the best thing for this. It will loosen the gunk much better.

WD40 leaves a residue that eventually sticks things, use carb cleaner or another alcohol based cleaner.

I have the SFI box off atm, and lookin down into the (butterfly?) of the Throttlebody it looks dirty. can I whack some carb cleaner down there and let it dry/burn off before starting it, or will that do damage?
