Went to my local spec savers on Saturday for eye test and new glasses. Nothing expensive about that 12 quid for an eye test and then 85 quid for the frames and it's BOGOF and the lenses are free. Happy Days i thought......

Until they reminded me how short sighted I am (-8 oh yes it's bad) and that unless as my missus put it "want to be a jam jar head" I'll need to spend a few quid having the lenses thinned. So 170 quid later for thinning and 30 quid for a lense tint for sunglasses and I'm well and truly shafted.

Least I can see though! :thumb:

My wife has to have the thinned lenses. But we decided that since the kids keep trying to break her glasses, that we would get her eyes lazered. Thats quite expensive, but the machines they use are well funky:thumb:

I've thought about having my eyes zapped to but I've got to wait a few more years i've been told and even then my pupils maybe too big. WTF!!

I'm gonna try contact lenses again at some point and hopefully this time I can pull them out without feeling like i'm trying to pull my eyeball out as well!

?300? lol

Glasses are for noobs, real men wear lenses. Mine cost me something like a Nova each, thankfully the D&A insurance thingy gives me a hefty discount on that! Although last time I had a lense check the optician ordered me some more - after the 3rd unsuccessful replacement pair, they decided my eyes were well and truly square lol

I don't think I'd trust having my eyes lasered yet - they don't know the true long term effects

Tracie, how can you be both long and short sighted yet still have supposedly perfect eyes? :wisewood:

I refuse to poke my finger in my eye voulentaraly so contacts are out. esp after buying glasses.

RJ They have it pretty much sorted these days. Anyway if you like I could laser your eyes for you. I have a laser pointer:D

I'm short sighted, I can't remember what number thing it is. But it's not major. I like my glasses, as they're sexy.
Jack's glasses when I put them on make my eyes go funny. lol

Pfft, laser pointers are for wusses. You need one of these:

...that'll get rid of any eye problem. And your eye. And the planet you happen to be standing on at the time.

I'm short sighted. I wear all day all night contact lens. Basically i leave them in (even sleep with them in) for a month then fit a new pair.
