stupidest thing youve done at work

following on from mowgli workplace accident thread, what the stupidist/most dangerous thing youve done at work ??

i think th eworst i did was when i worked in agarage, had fitted a tow-bar to a 4x4, measured the bumper to cut the notch out so it fitted snug and looked factory fit. i took ages marking it out, cut it and made the edges neat, offered it up to the vehicle and it fitted.....................perfectly even tho id cut the bumper and not the bottom :cry:

At one of my old jobs it was coming up to the christmas party and the manager sent round an email with a link to the hotel details on... I took a look and sent an email to one of the other office staff saying "have you seen the hotel... looks crap".... unknown to me I actually hit reply instead of forward and sent it back to the manager.

He was a little pissed off.

came home from work at 5pm, fell asleep on the sofa.. woke up at 9pm, the wall clock said 9... I paniked thinking it was the morning and I was 2 hours late for work, ran up stairs changed clothes and phoned my boss, started pleading my case for being late. Got the piss taken out of me for weeks for that.

I was above a suspended ceiling about 3 meters up hanging a projector. Instead of taking another tile out to plug the power lead in, i decided to lean over and try to reach it. Turned out the ladder wasn't particularly level, and in slow motion, i fell off the ladder and grabbed hold of the false ceiling. I floated to the floor nice and slowly accompanied by the popping noise of the ceiling coming down. i landed on my feet and the ceiling was only 1m off the floor in the middle of the room lol

Timed up a 1.2 corsa after putting a new chain on it. Turned the key after forgetting the line up the crank.

All 8 inlet valves went ding lol

Put a dizzy cap on with no rotar arm, then wondered why it wouldnt start lol

edited - almost forgot this one!

Was removing a bolt above a starter motor with 1/4 drive ratchet, without disconnecting the battery. Dropped the ratchet accross the terminals, lots of sparks and smoke.

Ended in a melted snap-on ratchet and a lot of p!ss taking lol
