Right, question time.

After looking at fuel lines on a Nova (don't worry, this isn't a tech question), and conferring with Mike, we've been looking at the underbody pics in the Haynes manual. Only to realise that in mine, Page 240 is the underside of a GTE - yet in Mike's its a pictures of an SR carb. Both in the old style Blue version of the Haynes, this one:

To make matters even more confusing, in mike's other copy of Haynes (again, old style blue version) page 240 has the SR engine bay.

Sooo... whats on your Page 240? lol

I've the green Haynes one, but it doesn't have page numbers and i'm not sitting here counting them lol

i have both blue and green blue has a pierburg 2e3 carbburettor and the green is a wiring diagram for 1988 to 1989 nova had to count it twice

my haynes manual doesnt go that far, but on page 140 it shows you how to add a F+F rec counter !!

can tell you whats on the mk2astra/mk4astra/civic?/clio/saxo/ though lol

RJ-Its probably because theres two versions of the old BLUE haynes.
One in the pic you have, and one that only coveres MK1 novas(to 1989 iirc)

And then theres the later Green ones.
