I've just finished putting the new engine in, and i'm trying to set the carbs up so the fuelling is correct, so i can at least drive it safely while its bedding in. I have been told to set it on the rich side to be safe.
The engine seems to be misfiring and doesnt appear to have a brilliant spark, and no.2 plug doesnt seem like its doing alot at all. Have checked leads and they do spark, but its a very weak spark.
I no alot of this could be down to jetting/setup, but my main concern is i seem to have a knocking noise from the bottom end. I haven't driven the car yet due to this, but i have never had a new engine to bed in before, so i am unaware of anythings that may be different etc...
Engine Spec:
1640 block
oversized pistons
lightened and balanced crank and rods
arp bolts
brand new oil pump
standard head
285 piper cam and vernier
dhla 40s
full ashley system
