not starting

i have a problem went to start my gsi this morning turned the immobiliser off nothing the alarm works the immobiliser light goes off but nothing when u turn the key like it is still immobilised any ideas it was fine the night before when i left it. how can that happen overnight???/

bad connection on the starter? or fucked starter?

it doesnt even turn over or try and turn over its just dead the ignition comes on but nothing

i had this problem with an XR2 i had (before someone done me the favour of nicking it and i brought my nova gte) all that had happened was a thin wire had worked its way loose from the starter. check the thin wire and the heavier wire from the battery. if this fails to solve it, then its probably the starter. (had this on another car)
