my sisters car (1.2 nova) split a coolant pipe last month and she drove it home with the temp gauge in the red - doh
i fixed the pipe but it still uses water
was leaking a bit from rad so i stuck in some radweld
it also runs a bit lumpy aswell
yesterday she went to use start it and it runs but only on 3 cylinders .
i took out the plugs and 3 were black (on choke so rich) but one was wet and normal colour (no.3 cylinder)
i replaced the plugs with some old ones of mine and it started straight away on all 4 then poped every few beats missing again
as the engine was running air was coming up and out of the expantion tank
im thinking now - headgasket???
so i take the plugs out (no.3 cyl plug looking bad again)
fit compression tester to each cyl and results were
no1 = 15bar 220 psi
no2 = 15bar 220 psi
no3 = 14bar 200 psi
no4 = 10bar 145 psi
wtf is going on???
i was expecting to see a prob on no3 cyl but not really much lower comp???
any ideas ??
