revs sticking

i have a 1.6i [gte] the revs keep sticking and rising and dropping on there own stop at a juction the revs will go from 900 to 2500 on there own and wont drop till i touch the throttle please help trying to sell the car wont look good to possible buyers

there are a number of thin tubes that run around the throttle body/fuel rail area, make sure all of these are connected properly, also get the engine running and listen for any hissing noises under your bonnet!!
Another thing is the throttle potentiometer. which si the black thing on ur throttle body (just after where rubber hose joins metal part)

check your rubber hose from airbox to engine for splits, and the thin hose that comes off it.
Check the rubber hose that goes from ur cam cover to the throttle body.
basically its either sucking air, or the potetiometer isnt set right/faulty!!!

i have a similar problem happens occasionally to my 1.2 Diamond which has engine mods if u manage to fix yours let me know what u did as i reset my carboreter a while back and that seemed to fix it, but still on a bad day i have a similar problem

sorry mate, saw ur car parked on the cobbles outside KFC but stood in the cold with kev and lancy whilst ste was racing up and down the a500 with mingle, inconsiderate t**t, lol.
if you still aint fixed it by next week m8....

and get your damn email sorted out becuase iv been tryingto email you for ages now!!
