right, i have got 2 pipes coming from the spi pump (spi model nova) and they come to the engine bay.. one is feed and the other is return..i have now fitted twin 40's and the 40's only have one feed pipe.

so do i just unbolt the mechanical pump and use the spi pump.. do i just put the feed from spi pump to the pressure regulator then into the 40's and blank off the return back to the tank..

or is there another way to do it?

thanks,
Greg

Ive not a clue what you mean. lol
The Spi pump has ONE pipe, the supply, the other is the return to the tank.

If you want to use the 1300's mechanical pump you will have to remove the spi pump and replace it with a piece of fuel hose.

This is how i did it.
SPi pump feed pipe to pressure regulator, regulated down to 3psi.
From the regulator to one 40, then across to the other.

And T-piece the return line in from the 2nd carb(as the spi pump runs at a constant pressure/volume) unlike the std mechanical pump which increases with revs..... So the excess needs to go back to the tank.

The spi pump relay will also need a switch wiring to activate the relay/

OR
you can remove the spi pump, feed line to one side of mech pump, output from pump to the carbs. Block the return with a m8 bolt.

whats the best to do?

i think i will just take away the spi pump and use the mechanical as that seems easier..

Well, theres more work to use the spi pump.

Id probably use the mech one.
