no from a 1.2 to either a 1.3sr or 1.4 sr/sri,
1.3 or 1.4sr you could do it your self in a day as long as you got all the parts needed

well you need:
1.6 engine/ gearbox with inlet and exhaust manifolds!
engine loom with ecu, maf sensor etc
either a fuel tank with an intank pump, or one with a fuel pump on the outside!
youlll need to run fuel ines aswel for the new tank!
as for the wiring, it was so much easier than i thought it would be, for me there was 3 wires, 1 live, 1 ignition live and a wire to the fuel pump! got mine done in 3 days, but i wasent working on it all day!

id still go for a 1.6 over my old 1.4sr anyday!! :thumb:
If you have got a socket set and can borrow a hoist, theres no reason why you cant tackle this your self, just remember to support the engine with either a jack and/or the hoist as being undernearth to undo your rear gearbox mount you risk being clouted in the face by the engine as it will drop back!!!
Also engine and box will go in and out as one incase you were wondering

you should be able to do this easily in a day as long as the engine you buy has all the bits you need! when i put a 1.4sr in my 1.2 it took me 2 days because it was the first time id done an engine swap and had to figure out stuff like geting driveshafts out on my own, its little things that hold you up really!

cool, well a 1.6 is too expensive for me at the minute probs a 1.4sri is but im trying to swop/sell my pc to buy an sri car and strip it for what i want ie engine seats clocks & a few other bits then sell what i dont need and scrap the shell but its just finding the money or buyer for a pc. would love a corsa 1600 16v sport engine would these go in? or the nova gsi engine(standard) quicker?? and cheaper? cheers Ian
if your going to fit an sri engine, get a corsa or astra mk3 si engine..
wiring's a pain in the ass on sri nova's, where as the corsa's and astra's the loom is speperate
would ofer to help for some ?? though
As ste said, unless you fancy cutting the loom out or swapping the entire loom, dont use a nova sri as a donor car.
where abouts in manchester are you, and is yours a 1.2 car or spi at them min
if its a carb then it can be done in about 3 hours lol if that , ste and rexy know what i mean lol
yea, lol
me riggy and rexy had engine out 30-45mins, iirc, that was funny :thumb:
ive got a 1600 16v engine if your interested, has a 4-2-1 manifold aswell ;)
