Ive got a TD, what is meant to be so special about them? The gear ratios appear to be the same as 1.4 (not SRi) and 1.2 5spd, except final drive ratio is the same as the Gsi (3.74:1) and 1.2 4spd

Apparently TD Box gives better acceleration in 1st 2nd and 3rd when fitted to a 1600cc??

Im not sure what car it was out of (astra?), but SRBoy had a D box in his GTE, very long gears, he never used 5th, too high geared. Top end was stupidly high (145+) but took an age to get there, unless you're a motorway cruiser you're better off with the CR GTE box, much better accelration at the bottom end, but you'll hit the rev limiter at 128-135.

yep, he does. I don't think his was a nova TD one. He has now put in a Nova GTE CR one.

Better off keeping your F13 CR box and changing the final drive CWP. Get hold of a 3.94 or 4.18 CWP from some SRs and suchlike.. theres a diagram of how to read the box number for the FD ratio somewhere..

Ive got a F13CR with 4.3 CWP in my Nova and its very close.. Wouldnt like to cruise the motorway in it coz it revs the nuts off it but top end is probably about a true 100 (@6k)
