I'm having probs with my back brakes freezing up. Happens only when the car has been standing (for as short as a couple of hours!) - usually after its been raining or ground is wet. When I try to pull away, one of the wheels remains locked and drags - like the handbrake is on. I have to rock the car back and fwd to release it and it parts with a massive bang. Been to garage twice and had them cleaned out, machined down etc - have been told moisture rusts them, ice forms in drum and even its a standard fault with novas. Had new pistons fitted but still happens. Anyone know of way to fix or at least reduce?

u tried getting a different drum? i think if its warn down lots its easier 4 it to lock up!!! not sure on that mind!!
also make sure you handbrake cable is free to slide where it goes through a v-shaped part on the chassis, if the v has been squashed then u may have problems
