iirc turbo'd 1.6 will last a few thousand miles and then blow up, remember reading somewere!

With proper forged pistons with a low cr you wont need a spacer plate.

would i have to uprate the conrods to or would i be ok with just the piston and on the manifold i know they put little t2 on there but will a t25 just bolt stainght on to it

Rod will be "fine" as youre not revving the tits off the engine (well maybe)

There are two ways to build a turbo... a peaky revvy one with high compression and big boost coming in late (after peak NA torque). OR low compression, low peak revs but bags of mid range torque.

To do it properly you will need to have a general refresh bottom end build with ARP rod bolts, appropriate pistons (low comp or not) etc. a bit of head porting from someone who knows what they are doing (not yer mate who saw F@F lol). A mantzel style inlet manifold. A modded exhaust manifold. and aftermarket engine management to set it all up right.

Oh and for reference the term "boost" and the psi related to it is a measure of how restrictive the head is.... the pressure wouldnt build up if the engine could consume it all ;) vauxsport is a very very good source of FI info

tbh i did it on the bodge and spent over ?3k lol but i had another ?5k worth of parts to fit lol
