Right, so far ive already got this little lot fitted just for my small block, so what else is needed for an XE? (obvoiusly the engine, box, loom + ECU)

Presently fitted:

256mm ATE brakes
Inj tank
Inj pump & lines
GSi rad

My impression is, its just a case of getting the:

The mounts
The shafts + CV's
The engine & box (including loom & ECU)

Correct? :wtf:

Mostly. One or two need bodging but I cant remember which.

will the top rad hose fit from the corsa xe hose conversion kit?

Adam

Use all nova hoses(gte bottom rad hose)

You might have to extend the heater matrix hoses etc, depending where on the coolant tube they join.

Cheaper option for the mounts is use the normal nova mounts tape up one side, fill them up with tiger seal.

Stiffens them up enough, i havent had any problems with knocking from engine movement.

as regarding to the drivers side mount that i just read previously. i was having some issues with this.... i asked on here and people told me you needed to do it. however i also asked chris astley and they said you dont need to. with his kit it should be fine. anyone shed any light further onto this?

was told its if you lower the drivers mount you use a mount off a astra?

You can just get his mount kit and there wont be any need to cutting and re-welding the mount. All you have to do is cut/weld the chassis leg to clear the alternator and should really stitch weld the bay.

shweet. So the mounts, suitable shafts and/or hubs (depending on what i buy) and then engine/box, loom/ECU?

As ive already got the rest (bar adeqaute suspension, but thats on its way soon)

I am seroiusly contemplating it yes, altho ive still not fixed my small blocks fuel pump, ive not even drove it since changing from 1400 to 1600 lol but big block is calling, aslong i can hit 180bhp per ton ill be happy :D

I dunno, we'll see how the money/time situations goes, and go from there. 150bhp (give or take) would do me.

Saying that, id use a proper Rally Nuts 4-1 XE manifold and obvoiusly a power cap (so its not a tight sqeeuze) and possibly a few other bits. So i dunno, maybe 160bhp or something.

Yeah, im fussy as feck! Just spent the last month or two getting my small block nice and blingy, i just fancy a nice big block conversion, and if it turns out pants (which i doubt) ill stick the 1600 back in lol

You can indeed.
Just cut the mount off then weld it back on lower.

Easier just buy a mount kit imo tho.

LMAO at thinking of swapping engines before even driving the new one lol

also dont forget that unless you are going to run the power steering set up you will need to change the pulleys for the single v type ones unless they already been swapped.
