Was quite chuffed to be honest after gettin stopped by the police the other nite. Heres my story -
after a nite on the sofa with the mrs took her home about 12 on sat night (dodgy time but oh well) and was driving normally down the road seat belt on all lights etc etc, the road i was on is ****!! so i swerved to miss a mahoosive pot hole - (which my nova doest like) and the next thing i know blue lights flashing behind me. So i pulled over and the copper told me to get out and as i walked to the cop car he said to me "are you pissed?!?!" sat in the back of the car they asked me if i had anything dangerous on me probs because i had my hat on lol the breathaliser wouldnt work but they said they couldnt smell alcohol on my breath so i was ok, however he asked me what "bull**** story!!" i was on about and i explained that i had a crack in my windscreen and swerved to miss the pot hole. He then went and had a look at my windscreen which was quite bad and he wanted to book me for it however the female copper who was sound let me go. He said to me "if i wanted to be a real ******* i could have your car towed away foe having a defective vehicle and do me for my number plates? i though they were legal? but i jus opolagised and kept calm and he told me to get it all sorted and he would be on the lookout for me (bright green nova not hard to spot lol) and on my way i went!! MORAL OF THE STORY - DONT GIVE THEM LIP, STAY CALM AND YOU WILL BE FINE. NOTHING THEY WOULD LIKE MORE TO BOOK SOMEONE DRIVING A MODIFIED CAR LET ALONE A NOVA!! :thumb:

i find that with the police around us, usually they are pretty sound with you as long as you dont give them lip!

Just make sure your 100% legal and then you can be as lippy as you like!

They pulled up next to me and a few of my mates last night. They wre so suspisous, "none of you have been drinking have you" and "you got tax and insurance" . My mate said (to another mate) jokingly, "you dont want to look in his car" he fully made him open it up so he can searrch it. lol They were sound really, we were all legal so it was fine. Even started having a laugh with them, to be honest if your legal and cool with them it always turns out fine.

Agreed :D altho i nearly got arrested for calling an armed response officer G I Joe when he asked if i had a gun in the car, to which i also replied "yes" as i had a mastic gun in the boot. Didnt go down to well tho :tard:

Ive had exactly the same thing happen mate, roads round here are all the same, if i ever buckle a wheel i swear to god i will make the council pay for it.

But as you said, if your polite and calm they let you off a hell of a lot lighter, ive been driving since febuary and i must of been pulled about 7-8 times for no reason at all, mainly because of the cars i have been driving, but they always give you the bullsh*t about they can take your car away etc.

Next time i get pulled and they ask me ''do you know why we have stopped you?'' i might just try something like, ''i dunno, im guessing your on commision?''

Most police around here are ok if you answer them and dont give them lip. If they get funny about my car and start on a power trip i just wind them up and play dumb. I know im all legal so theres nothing they can do. I love the question 'what engines in it?' or 'what have you done to the engine?' lol

They pull me when I had one of my first cars, first question was "when did it see it's last MOT" to which I replied " 2 days ago" didn't stop the fecker checking everything though. Wasn't even it a boyracer kinda car, it was a nissan cherry, not really a hot hatch lol

when i first passed my test i was getting pulled 4-5 timesa week lol 5door escort on 3i rims and 2 12" subs always drew attention to me for some reason - i always find they only pull you if you take notice of the coppers by either looking at them or changing the way you drive i.e. if you drive with the gangster lean normally but as soon as you see a copper you rrevert to the 10-2 steering position

last time I got pulled was when i was on holiday in wales and I really cudnt understand the copper. I heard the word "tints" so I said yes assuming he's asked if they were legal. he then said people seem to stick them on like wall paper. he opened my door and said they were actually real good, after that it was just a 3 hour lecture on how he thinks I should remove them even though they are legit.

funny people the welch

Never been pulled yet, believe it or not, a 17 in a Nova i thought would have been a dead cert! Still 7 months and strong :D

we have to hide from the police round where we are in notts/derby, like they come looking for us i'm sure of it. but to be honest recently they've not been to bad, got pulled not long ago in sawley for doing 60 at about 12pm in a road that is 30 when roadworks(not at night in this case), he let me off after i pointed this out tho.

I've been stopped 3 times so far, the first time was on the way home from my ex-girlfriends, got breathalysed and sent on my way. The second time I got followed for around 2 miles then they pulled me over, asked me my name, looked at my license then told me to be careful because someone was on a spree of robbing novas, cavs and mk2 astras at the time. The last time I had got stuck behind a nissan micra doing 15mph in a 30, so i razzed off when it turned away, copper behind me followed me and ID'd me, I think he was a bit pissed off that I wasnt speeding lol.

I've never had any proper hassle from police, but its amazing what a difference in attitude you get from them when they've pulled me in either of my old Novas of my old Fiat compared to how they are with me in the Celica lol

the police round here are normally ok too nut there is a keeno who has pulled me over twice in the last two weeks and has been giving out section 59's to all the little scrots for meeting up in car parks! any way i got one for accelarating hard not speeding but as the xe is quite loud he gave me one so now if i get pulled for antisocial driving in whatever car it will get confiscated . work wont be very happy :tosser:

I got pulled within thirty mins of getting my nova back on the road yesterday. Was driving down the by-pass at 70ish and he pulled me for having a wobbly rear window. After much deliberation he took my phone number and called me later after doing some research to tell me that if I intend to use my car on the public highway, I need to change my Polycarbonate windows to glass as they're not road legal

Remember this. When a copper pulls you, he's always potentially gonna get injured or die. When people moan, ask yourselves, would you do their job for 20grand a year? Thats the starting wage. No wonder some of them are ****y!

I know 4 coppers, ranging from a plod bobby to a CID inspector. Like ALL walks of life/professions, 99% are ok and the odd knob spoils it for you.

When something sh1t happens, like your mum gets burgled, you'll want the police like they're your best mate. Stay legal, don't give any attitude and you'll all be ok.

Be careful out there people!

id love to be a police officer. ive applyed 3 times in 3 years.

unfortunately, im not not

a woman
gay
an ethnic minorityso i dont stand a chance.

a friend of my girlfriend, who is 1/8th chinese and female got in first time.even though she failed the fitness test. (which i passed twice)

work that out.

another case of why this country is so s.hit, if your granny got mugged at knifepoint who would be best chasing after the culprit?...me, 6ft 4,likes keeping fit,........or a 1/8th chinese woman whos 5ft tall and has a penchant for macdonalds and greggs sausage rolls:wtf:

unfortunately the fire service is going the same way, too many quotas to hit regarding staff levels.no longer is it a case of the best person gets the job, you have a distinct advantage if your gay/female/ethnic minority

I havent been pulled in my Nova since its been big blocked 2 years now.

Been stopped in all my runabouts, but not been stopped for nearly a year now I reckon.

Apart from when I got caught speeding in the van, doh!
